This position will support our antitrust practice group with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.


    The ideal candidate will be an experienced antitrust Paralegal with the knowledge and experience to perform the following:


    • prepare initial drafts of Hart Scott Rodino (“HSR”) premerger notifications and report forms
    • conduct initial review of related documents
    • track HRS developments and rule changes, prepare reports to communicate with practice group
    • perform company and industry research related to M&A transactions
    • assist with drafting second request responses
    • organize and manage a document collection, review and production with outside vendors
    • assist with leading a trial team


    Position Summary:    

    Depending upon practice area, there may be processes and/or forms specific to it; however in general, all practice areas will require the generalized duties and skills within the Essential Functions and Skills areas of this job description.


    Essential Functions:  

    Manage complex files; review documents and organize relevance, confidentiality and privilege reviews. If litigation, prepare witness files, assist with deposition preparation; lead role in all aspects of trial preparation; manage and attend trials, arbitrations and assist at mediations. Participate in and oversee document productions; conduct client interviews; manage large numbers of documents as well as electronic data; understand and develop database structures for use in Relativity and other database applications; coordinate data processing with EDS Department and with outside vendors; work analytically; identify interrelationships among cases, statues, regulations and other legal authorities, cite-check legal memorandum and other legal documents; participate in training and mentoring initiatives.

    • During absences acts as back-up to other paralegals for specific case projects. Travel as needed. Other duties as requested by attorneys and manager.


    Specific Technical Skills:

    • Solid computer skills; knowledge of and experience using MS Word, Outlook Calendar, Excel and Power Point expected. Progressive use of technology and technical tools including Relativity, Case Notebook, and Case Map. Knowledge and experience using PACER and CM/ECF expected. Specific practice areas may require specific software illuminated during the recruiting process.

    • Flexible to work overtime as needed, with ability to travel for extended period of times if necessary.


    Experience and Education Requirements:  

    • Bachelors degree with solid academic credentials is required.
    • Minimum three + years hands-on antitrust paralegal experience in a legal or corporate environment is required.
